All StarZ Staffing is hiring a Corrosion Control Technician III for an immediate opening at the Bangor Naval Base near Bremerton & Silverdale, WA. We’re looking for someone with advanced corrosion control experience to test, inspect, repair, and maintain cathodic protection systems. Contribute to important on-base operations and enjoy a unique work environment. This is a full-time, 9-12 month contract opportunity.
Pay for the Fuel Truck Operator:
- $35+ per hour, depending on experience
Job Location:
- Bangor Naval Base near Bremerton & Silverdale, WA, with easy access to SR 3
- Bus line accessible: Kitsap Transit provides service directly to Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor
- Enjoy on-base convenience with restaurants and a mini-mart available.

- Monday – Friday

Fuel Truck Operator Duties:
- CP System Management: Install, inspect, repair, and adjust impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize hand tools, precision instruments, and specialized equipment effectively.
- Testing & Analysis: Conduct critical field tests, collect data, and perform preliminary analysis to identify system issues.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Determine response actions, generate repair work, and refer complex issues to engineers for advanced analysis.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare accurate technical reports using PC-based systems for data collection and comprehensive reporting.
- Corrosion Coating Application: Remove, repair, restore, and apply industrial coatings for corrosion control.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and replacement of cathodic protection systems and associated equipment.
Fuel Truck Operator Qualifications:
- Experience & Education: Minimum 5 years of experience in corrosion control; an Associate’s Degree in engineering or physical sciences (with relevant coursework) may substitute for 2 years of experience.
- NACE Certification: Possess N.A.C.E. Certification (Corrosion Control/Cathodic Protection Technician III, CIP Level 3 Oral Exam NACE-CIP3-001).
- CP System Expertise: Thorough familiarity with electrical and electronic repair of CP equipment and devices, including relevant test equipment.
- Coating Application Skills: Ability to effectively select and apply industrial protective coatings.
- Technical Interpretation: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Communication & Math: Excellent basic math and communication skills.
- Physical Readiness: Able to wear and work with a respirator.
- Driving: Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- S. Citizenship: Required for federal contract and base access.
- Security Clearance: Ability to pass a thorough background check to obtain and maintain required security clearance for base access.
